GET MY NAME RIGHT!!!!

Ok, here is my latest soap box. Why is it so hard to get my girls' names correct?  I named my girls double names for a reason.  We do live in the South and it is very common to have a double name, but people cannot seem to get it.  If you ask me "what are their names?" and I say "Maggie Ray and Claire Beth", then that is what I want them called.  Don't turn around and call them Maggie and Claire.  Their names are "Maggie Ray" and "Claire Beth".  If you ask me my name and I say Susan, DON'T call me Sue!!!!
I know, I find it difficult to correct people because I don't want to be mean or sound rude, but I have got to find a way to get my point across.  Any suggestions?

  1. Well, I truly feel your pain! Afterall, my youngest's name is actually Anna Catherine, which was a mouthful for 19-month old Rachel, so we shortened it to Anna Cate. However, since we maintained the true essense of Catherine in Cate, no one can spell her middle name - even my family. I mean it makes perfect sense to me, I just don't understand why everyone gives me the strange look when I correct their spelling. However, I haven't had the issue with people not calling Anna Cate by her full, double name - she will quickly correct you and tell that she is Anna Cate Lemon - not Anna Lemon!
