Pumpkin Patch

Granddaddy made his first attempt at growing pumpkins. I think they turned out rather well. We won't be winning any size awards, but they are perfect for the girls and for decorating. Maggie Ray gets to it. Olivia Grace picks her first one.

Claire Beth has a try at pumpkin picking
Everybody had to help carry from the field to the yard.
Here is Granddaddy with all his girls and his prize pumpkins.....although I think his girls are his prize possessions and what really make him proud.

First Day of Kindergarten

Headed off to school for her first day. She is full of excitement and ready to "play" as she says. I hope she isn't disappointed. Aunt Hilda we were able to see Kevin, Amanda, & Ethan. When I left they were sitting beside one another coloring. Small world isn't it?
I love animals, but not so bad that I climb under a car to give one some "love". Claire Beth expressing love to our cat "dust".
I think she thinks he needs her hair bow.

Just being girls

Olivia Grace builds a sand castle
Here is Maggie Ray's lates occupation try out. She is styling Poppie's (my dad) hair.
She thinks it is quite funny. How could she not, everything is funny with Poppie,
he is just a big play toy anyway..

The Saturn is BACK!!

Yesterday they deliverd our Saturn back to us. It appears that who ever took it just ran the gas out, cleaned out the valuables and then parked it at a bank in Cary. There are a couple of things we will have to file on insurance and of course the things they took, but over all things are in good shape.

Kindergarten Orientation

Today Olivia Grace had her Kindergarten Orientation at
Chinquapin Elementary School.
She is so excited and can't wait to start school.
(She was upset that she couldn't stay today).
Her school is trying something new this year, she will only go to school on Monday of next week. She will be there with 5 children per class (15 children total per day) they will spend time with all three teachers and have their assessment completed. This will allow the teachers time to get to know the children and then they will be assigned their teacher after all the children have been that week. Therefore on Tuesday Sept.2 she will report to her permanent teacher. She is so excited and I am too. I am looking forward to her having a new experience and me having time with the twins.

Peanuts anyone?

Granddaddy came out Tuesday to check the garden and Peanuts were on the menu. Olivia Grace loves to help in the garden and the twins were really intrigued with the peanuts coming off the plant, then they washed them in a bucket. I think they really just wanted to play in the water and eat them. They don't mind if they are raw, after all they eat raw butter beans. It is always an adventure around here

Dance Fever

We are back in dance and loving it. This is a great way for her to release her energy
and she gets to interact with some of her classmates from Kindergarten.

New job for me or not

Maggie Ray has many interest and her latest has been helping Daddy.
She helps Daddy put air in the tires today.
Claire Beth wants no part of dirt on her face.

Happy 95th Birthday MarMar

Today we celebrated Ashley's Great Grandmothers 95th Birthday. We call her Mar Mar, she is the one in blue beside Ashley. She has a great love for life, has experienced a lot and has more love to give to others than anyone I have ever met. She is still very active and very young at heart. We love you Mar Mar!!!
Here the twins enjoy cake and ice cream with Grandmommie and Granddaddy (Ashley's parents). They love to eat and once they finished here they went to whoever had a plate. They got their fill.

OGB 2005

Here is Olivia Grace in 2005 at the same age as the twins in the rocking chair at Cracker Barrel, she and Claire Beth have on the same dress and shoes. How ironic!?

Lunch at Cracker Barrel

We had to stop for lunch.. The girls found the stuffed animals
Every child has to have their picture made in the rocking chairs out front.
My girls love to rock...

Wake New Hope Fire Departments new members

Wildlife

The girls and I had to go to pick up Ashley from work this morning and as we entered his fire station we saw all these geese. The girls were thrilled. Gods ways of providing a learning experience.
Ok, speaking of learning experiences and picking up Ashley, the reason we were headed to Raleigh at 7 am this morning is because as my husband was so lovingly doing his job last night some common person stole our black saturn. Can you believe that someone would do that has Fire Fighters and EMS personnel are out helping others and saving lives? Well they did so we Bradshaw girls loaded up after breakfast and headed to Raleigh for "Operation Daddy Pickup". We continue to thank God that he and JD are safe and weren't harmed.

The Mind of a 4 year old

Imagine this scene:
Riding in the car this morning on the way to VBS....Olivia Grace says "Mommy when I get bigger and have my children, can I live close to you so I can see you every day?"
I responded "Absolutely"
Olivia Grace "Maybe when all the corn dies (around our house) Daddy can help me build a house beside ours." "I want a house just like yours."
I said "you might want two bathrooms"
OGB "why?"
Me "well, you know when Mommy has to use the potty and you have to use the potty at the same time, if you had two bathrooms we both could use the potty at the same time."
OGB "well, I'm going to have 3 potties then all my children can pee the same time I pee"
Me "I think that is very smart planning"
She is such a planner, I just love to hear her mind at work and she is such a talker until if she is thinking it, she is going to say it.....

Olivia Grace

Headed out to the garden to pick a few "maters".
She looks like she isn't wearing any pants,
but her shorts are under that long t-shirt.

Spit

OK, I have lived 4.5 years with a child who is so cooperative and does as she is told. Now I have twins who have completely different personalities. Claire Beth is more high maintenance, but Maggie Ray has proved herself to be stubborn. Today we are having difficulty with her taking her medicine. She spits it out. I have tried to get her to take it several different ways. Letting her give it to herself, with a syringe, cup, I have held her down , etc...she continues to spit it out. It doesn't taste bad, it is very sweet, but she isn't having it. Anyone have any suggestions??

Here the girls are after enjoying lunch at J Michael's in Wilmington.
They are sitting on the diaper changing table in the bathroom.

Welcome to the Car Wash

I now have lots of help washing the car.
Of course the quality would be in question

Happy Birthday Georgia Forrest

My cousin Amie's little girl had her 3rd Birthday yesterday. She and I share the same b-day. She had her party at Victoria's Cottage which is a great place for little girls to have a tea party and to feel like a princess. They dressed up, had a fashion show, then enjoyed a tea party.
Here they all are after they had their fashion show. It was amazing to see them with the wigs on, they looked so different.

Here is our little princess Olivia Grace. She was dressed as Sleeping Beauty. They all had a fabulous time.

Dressed up

Maggie Ray wearing a new pair of shoes.
